How it works

1. Sign up

Sign up to RentIndicator’s Search Service: tell us how many weeks you want us to search for, and proceed to payment.

2. Fill in the form

Upon confirmation of payment, we’ll send you a form asking for some personal details and your housing requirements. Make sure you complete the entire form and send it back to us.

3. We start searching

Once we know what you’re looking for, we’ll start searching for potential apartments and/or rooms. To maximise your chances, we will contact every single home that matches your requirements.

4. Agree to visit

Home owners and agents of matched homes will contact you to arrange a visit or video call. Decide which offers you’re most interested in and arrange a chat.

5. Sign contract

After visiting or calling several places, you’re sure to find the home of your dreams at the ideal price. Now just sign the contract, move in and relax: you’re home at last!

What will you do exactly?

Based on your housing requirements, we will continuously search for apartments or rooms matching these requirements.

All matches will instantly be send a personalised message in the local langue, on your behalf. The message expresses your interest and asks the recipients to contact you directly.


The only thing left for you to do is to arrange a visit or video call.

The Search Service is priced at €10 per week.
Can I order the Search Service for more than one week?

Yes, you can. You can order the Search Service for 1, 2, 3 or 4 weeks in the order process.

You can also order extra weeks in case your period is nearing its end and you still find yourself without a new home.

The Searching
How do you know what I want?

Once you’ve ordered the Search Service you receive a questionary. In this questionary we ask you all the possible housing requirements we can search on. E.g.: What is your budget, in which area(s) would you like to live, how many m2, rooms, bathrooms, etc. Based on your answers we will define our search criteria and start looking for potential homes.

How do you search?

We search continuously on the largest housing websites for new housing ads. Thereby ensuring you do not miss out on the best deals, without spending days behind the computer.

Based on your answer in the questionary, we define search criteria to filter out potential matches. Subsequently, we contact the landlord or agency and inform them of your possible interest, and ask them to contact you directly.


So when you receive a reply from a potential home, ultimately you decide whether you want to arrange a visit or video call.

Can I change my housing requirements?

Yes, but adjustments will come into effect from the next period onwards. That is, if you e.g. order two weeks of Search Service and change your mind in the middle of the first week and rather have us search for a room in stead of an apartment, we will start looking for a room in the second week.


If you change your mind, please send us an email to let us know and we will send you a new questionary.

Can you search for apartments and rooms?

The Search Service can be ordered to search for either a room or an apartment.


If you are indifferent between the living in an apartment or a room and would like us to search for both at the same time, you need to order two Search Services.

The Contacting
How do you make contact?

After finding a potential match, we immediately send a personalised message to the landlord or agency to inform them about your interest. We will ask them to contact you directly to arrange a visit or video call. It is up to you whether you want to make such arrangements.


The message will be send in the local language. Don’t worry, we will state in which language you’d like to be contacted in return. Also, the message will be personalised using your personal information you provide us in the questionary. Both personalisation as local language are used to maximise replies and thus your chances on finding a new home.

What is in the message you send?

The message we send to each potential match is tailored to you. After all, a proper introduction improves your chances on receiving replies and thus your chances on finding a new home.

We use the personal information you provide in the questionary to draft an introductory message for the landlord or agency. The message would be similar to how you would introduce yourself. So, we inform the recipient on your name, nationality, age, gender, profession and whether it is just you or you’re planning on living with friends and/or family.

Besides introducing you, we ask the recipient to contact you directly in order to arrange a visit or video call.

Will you arrange visits for me?
No. We do not arrange visits or video calls. That is your responsibility.
What if I am not interested?

That is ok. You are not forced to act on replies of home owners.


In the end, it is up to you to decide if you want to arrange a visit or a video call. If you’re not interested, then simply don’t make any arrangements.

Personal Information
Why do you need my personal details?

We use your personal details to personalise your introduction message we will send to potential landlords and/or agencies on your behalf. The more you tell us about yourself, the more replies you will get, which ultimately gives you more chances on finding your new home.

What happens with my info after I found a new home?

We delete it. That is, we delete your personal information, but keep your email address in case you allowed us to do so in the order process.

Will you sell my personal information?
Free One-Day Trial
Are there any limitations to the Free One-Day Trial?

The Free One-Day Trial is only limited in time. That is, it is a free one-day version of the regular Search Service.


We send you the same questionary, asking you for the same information which we will use to search and contact potential homes. Just like with the regular version.

What if I do not want to continue?

At the end of the trial day we will contact you and ask you if you want us to continue.

If you want us to continue after the trial day has ended, you will need to order the Search Service.


If you do not want us to continue, you do not have to do anything.

How long has RentIndicator been around?

RentIndicator is an ambitious new company founded beginning 2017. It was started by successful entrepreneur Luca Spanjaard and is rapidly changing the rental market.

Why did you start the Search Service?

The search for a new house is often time consuming. I found myself constantly checking new housing ads to not miss out on that bargain. Contacting landlords by mail. Waiting for replies. Calling. Visiting. Getting rejected. Continue.

Searching is a pain, but I found that outsourcing searching and contacting to agencies was costly. Therefore I decided to create the Search Service: a service affordable for everyone.

Why did you start RentIndicator?

Personal experience. Searching for a new home is not fun: it is stressful, time consuming, and there are a lot of scams. The market is not very transparent, wherever you go. Housing sites and real estate agents have statistics, but keep them to themselves.

I therefore decided to create RentIndicator: a place where everyone can get informed on rental prices. To take away the fear of paying too much for too little. To provide insight in what is possible and what is not. To level the playing field.
